Hallmark Success For Little Thetford Village Hall

The volunteer trustees of Little Thetford Village Hall have plenty to celebrate to mark their achievement in the Hallmark quality award. Hallmark is a nationally recognised quality standard for village halls and community facilities.

Local rural development charity, Cambridgeshire ACRE, oversees the award in the County and checks that any halls applying are reaching the high standard required, before independent assessors inspect the hall to check that all is in order. For Level 1, halls must demonstrate that they meet rigorous requirements for good charity administration. There are three levels to the Hallmark Accreditation Scheme, and we hope the committee will consider taking part in the next steps.

Kirsten Bennett, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire ACRE, said: "Congratulations to everyone at Little Thetford Village Hall on this achievement. This accreditation demonstrates how well the hall is being run for the local community. I’m delighted we are able to formally recognise all the hard work that the hall’s volunteers and trustees put in to making it such a special place to visit. We look forward to you going on to achieve Hallmark 2 in the coming months.”

Benefits of achieving the Hallmark standard for village halls include formal recognition that the community facility has embedded good practice and procedures, discounts on insurance and giving residents and hirers confidence that their community venue is safe and well managed.

Richard Church, Chairman at Little Thetford Village Hall, said: “Despite considerable change in the last few years, the new trustee body are pleased that our efforts to develop the hall for the good of the village have been recognised by this award.”
