• Originally set up in 1919 to help rural communities UK wide by promoting and supporting community businesses

• They are dedicating to helping villages develop and safeguard valuable assets

• Their projects tackle a range of issues in rural areas including isolation, loneliness, wellbeing, work and training

The Plunkett Foundation suggest:

 1. Form a steering group

 2. Create small working groups

  e.g. Business planning, Fundraising, Operations and Communications

  3. A Business Plan to be drawn up to assess the viability
